KUALA LUMPUR: Men's pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik are through to the quarter-finals of the Asian Championships (BAC) in Ningbo, China.
In the second round on Thursday, the former world champions had to dig deep before overcoming Japan's Kenya Mitsuhashi-Hiroki Okumura 21-18, 14-21, 21-14.
World No. 5 Aaron-Wooi Yik, who reached the BAC final two years ago, will face China's Liu Yu Chen-Ou Xuan Yi next.
Another Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun, failed to clear the second round after succumbing 21-18, 21-17 to Taiwan's Lee Jhe Huei-Yang Po Hsuan.
