KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's top men's doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik moved into the second round of the Singapore Open today.
The duo, however, were forced to work hard in their opening round match against Taiwan's Chang Ko Chi-Po Li Wei before emerging 22-20, 21-17 winners at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Aaron-Wooi Yik will play another Taiwanese pair, Lee Yang-Wang Chi Lin, for a spot in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
Aaron-Wooi Yik, who lost in the quarterfinals at last week's Malaysia Masters, have yet to win a title this year.
Two other Malaysian men's pairs - Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun and Goh Sze Fei-Izzuddin Rumsani - have also made it into the second round in Singapore.
