KUALA LUMPUR: National mixed pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei got their Paris Olympics debut off to a winning start by defeating Singapore's Terry Hee-Jessica Tan in their Group D opener on Saturday.
The world No. 9 Tang Jie-Ee Wei won 23-21, 21-12 in 42 minutes.
Tang Jie-Ee Wei will face American duo Vinson Chiu-Jennie Gai on Sunday and a win will edge them closer to the quarter-finals.
As expected, China's second seeds Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping defeated Vinson-Jennie 21-11, 21-14.
