Coach Hendrawan confirms BAM exit

KUALA LUMPUR: The BA of Malaysia (BAM) announced today that coach Hendrawan will part ways with the national body, effective Oct 31.

Former world champion Hendrawan, who was appointed as the national men's singles coach in May 2009, will leave BAM after almost 15 years.

"BAM is grateful to Hendrawan for his commitment and dedication to the national men's singles team.

"His vast experience and knowledge played a significant role in the progress and development of our players," said BAM acting president, Datuk V. Subramaniam.

Hendrawan, 52, expressed his gratitude to BAM for trusting him to helm the men's singles department.

"It's hard to believe I have been with BAM for so many years. It has been an incredible journey, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Malaysia, but now it's time for me to move on."

"I thank BAM for their trust in me and wish the singles players the very best in the future.

"I hope to see them continue to progress and become top players."

BAM added that a replacement for Hendrawan will be announced at a later date.
