KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's Fadhil Mohd Zonis finished 18th in the men's 1km time trial at the World Track Cycling Championships in France on Friday.
Fadhil clocked 1:01.211s at the Vélodrome National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, which was a second off his national record of 1:00.305s (set in Berlin in 2020).
Dutchman Jeffrey Hoogland took the gold with 58.106s, Melvin Landerneau of France won silver with 59.460s while
Alejandro Martinez Chorro of Spain took bronze with 59.549s.
Fadhil was the fourth-best Asian in the race behind Japan's Yuta Obara who finished fifth with 59.796s and China's ninth-placed Xue Chenxi with 1:00.143. Liu Qi was 16th with 1:01.060.
Earlier Shah Firdaus Sahrom had to be content with 10th-place in the men's keirin on Thursday.
