KUALA LUMPUR: Felda United coach B. Sathianathan hopes his club will continue to play in the M-League although they have been demoted to the Premier League next season.
Felda’s demotion was announced by Football Malaysia LLP (FMLLP) on Monday after the FA of Malaysia denied them a club licence for failure to submit their audited accounts despite given an extended deadline to meet the competition’s regulations.
All clubs in next season’s Super League must have a club licence.
“I will continue to coach Felda. I am definitely sad but there is nothing I can do about it. I accept FMLLP’s decision and I will rally on.
“It is not a problem for me to coach Felda in the Premier League. I had done so with Armed Forces when they won the second-tier competition in 2012.
“I have not heard any news from Felda, but I hope the club will continue to compete in the M-League,” said Sathianathan on Monday.
