THE FA of Malaysia (FAM) will not bid for the Under-23 Asian Cup in 2022, although China have decided not to host the tournament.
The national body, however, explained that they were not putting in the bid as the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) were looking at countries in the West Zone to host the tournament.
China withdrew as hosts as they are unable to complete the venues within the stipulated timeline. Furthermore, China will be hosting the Asian Games and the Olympic Winter Games, both in 2022, and the Asian Cup in 2023.
Indonesia had also expressed interest to bid for the Under-23 football tournament.
