KUALA LUMPUR: Harimau Malaya mauled Cambodia 4-0 in an international friendly at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday.
The national team, who are preparing for the AFF Cup under coach Kim Pan Gon, adapted to the rain-soaked pitch better than the Cambodians.
Captain Faisal Halim got a brace while naturalised players Lee Tuck and Stuart Wilkins both had a memorable debut for Malaysia by scoring.
Faisal, or better known as Mickey, scored in the 11th minute and the England-born Tuck was on target in the 38th minute. Just before halftime, the 24-year-old Faisal got his second goal with an assist from Darren Lok. English-Malaysian forward Wilkins was on target in the 86th minute.
World No 146 Malaysia stand to collect up to 10 points following the win over 177th ranked Cambodia.
Malaysia will next host the Maldives at the KLFA Stadium on Wednesday in an international friendly.
