BANGKOK: Four Malaysian fans dressed up as 'pendekar' (warriors) to support the national team for the second leg of their AFF Cup semi-final against Thailand at Thammasat Stadium today.
The four fans were dressed up in complete Malay traditional attire including tanjak and sampin, but minus the keris due to security reasons.
The quartet drew the attention of the local crowd, some of whom posed for pictures with them.
Mushi Mohamad, one of the four, said they were proud of their traditional attire and wanted to introduce it to foreigners.
"We have dressed like this for many (domestic) matches before, but this is the first time we have done so abroad," said Mushi.
"We already have them (attire) and we thought this would be a good place to showcase our culture and image."
Meanwhile, Ultras Malaya fans also made their presence felt at the Thammasat Stadium as they sang their trademark chants outside the stadium before the game.
