KUALA LUMPUR: Kelantan United have been a target of haters for not winning a match in six months, but all this changed on Friday.
The Green Deer recorded their first Super League win of the season by thrashing Kelantan 4-1 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Baru.
Kelantan United scored through Devid Silva (21st minute), Jose Porteria (26th and 61st) and Syazwan Zainon (66th).
Ismahil Akinade scored for the Red Warriors in the first half.
Kelantan United moved from bottom to 12th in the Super League with six points from one win and three draws after 13 matches.
Interim coach Nazrulerwan Makmor said: "We waited for a long time for this and it finally became a reality.
"I must thank the haters for motivating us. My players showed what they can do today (Friday)," said Nazrulerwan, who hinted it would be his final match in charge.
"I hope this momentum will continue when we play Selangor."
It was Kelantan's eighth straight defeat, and coach Frank Bernhardt was lost for words.
"I do not know what to say. It is the same mistakes in every game," said Bernhardt, whose side are bottom with four points
"I've tried my best, but this team just do not have the quality to make it in the league."
