KUALA LUMPUR: Defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) defeated KL City 2-0 to retain their FA Cup title at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Saturday.
It took JDT 66 minutes to score their opening goal through Nathaniel Shio Hong Wan's long-range effort, beating KL City goalkeeper Kevin Mendoza.
Leandro Velazquez doubled the score for JDT in the 74th minute, rifling home from close range thanks to KL City's poor defensive clearance.
KL City had their moments and could have scored in the first half through T. Saravanan. However, he failed to beat JDT goalkeeper Ahmad Syihan Hazmi from close range.
