JDT and Selangor to clash in blockbuster FA Cup final

KUALA LUMPUR: Defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) have secured their place in the FA Cup final for the third consecutive year.

JDT achieved this after defeating Kedah 3-0 in the semi-final return leg at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium for a 5-1 aggregate victory.

The Southern Tigers will face Selangor, who beat Terengganu 6-4 on aggregate, in the final at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, on Aug 24.

Following a goalless first half, JDT opened the scoring in the 50th minute through Feroz Baharudin.

Kedah's equaliser in the 64th minute was ruled offside after a VAR review.

JDT doubled their lead in the 77th minute through Bergson da Silva, while Juan Muniz added a third in the 84th minute.

Kedah were reduced to 10 players when captain Sony Norde was sent off for a foul on JDT defender Matthew Davies in the 85th minute.

However, the score remained until the final whistle.
