KUALA LUMPUR: Nidzam Jamil was today named as Selangor's head coach for the 2024-2025 Super League season.
Selangor FC made the announcement on social media.
Nidzam will replace Tan Cheng Hoe who resigned last month to take over Thai club Police Tero FC.
Former Selangor player Nidzam has been part of their coaching setup since November 2021, and was twice appointed as the interim head coach.
Nidzam, who previously coached Felda United and SPA FC, said on his social media page: "This is going to be a challenging year. I hope we all, the team and the fans, face it together."
Selangor FC chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon said: "We have made a detailed and collective assessment of Nidzam's ability as an assistant head coach in previous seasons.
"Nidzam has extensive experience in Malaysian football. He understands the club's culture and direction, and knows the players well."
"He is the right person to fill this position and can lead us to overcome the challenges that await Selangor in the 2024-2025 season."
