Red Giants, without Faisal Halim, ready for Sang Kenari

KUALA LUMPUR: Faisal Halim's absence will be profoundly felt by the Selangor team and fans alike as they face Kedah at the MBPJ Stadium on Saturday.

This will be Selangor's first match of the Super League season following their withdrawal from the Charity Shield-cum league match against JDT last Friday.

National winger Faisal, 26, has been hospitalised following a horrific acid attack by two unknown assailants on May 5.

In response, Selangor will stage a solidarity moment in support of Faisal during the seventh minute of the match against Kedah.

All supporters are urged to rise and applaud Faisal in the seventh minute, symbolising his jersey number for the Red Giants.

Selangor fans still talk about Faisal's crucial goal against Kedah, which culminated in a 3-2 win at the MBPJ Stadium last season.

Nonetheless, Selangor head coach, Nidzam Jamil, has expressed his readiness for a win tomorrow despite Faisal's absence.

"All of us in Selangor are deeply saddened over Faisal. However, we have to brave on and focus on the match against Kedah," said Nidzam.
