KUALA LUMPUR: Akhyar Rashid made his much-anticipated debut for Terengganu in today's Super League match against Penang at City Stadium, Georgetown.
However, he couldn't inspire them to victory.
Despite both teams having nine shots on target each, the Panthers and the Turtles failed to break the deadlock.
For the record, Akhyar suffered minor injuries to his head and legs during a recent robbery in Kuala Terengganu, and the team were unsure whether he would play today.
Meanwhile, at the State Stadium in Sarawak, Kuching City clinched a point following a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Sri Pahang.
Aidil Sharin Sahak's side dominated early on, securing a 19th-minute lead courtesy of Tchetche Kipre's goal. Jordan Mintah added a second in the 45th minute.
Sri Pahang, however, fought back with goals from Adam Nor Azlin in the 63rd minute and Manuel Hidalgo in the 77th.
