Khuzaimi's house broken into despite announcement of bodyguards

KUALA LUMPUR: The announcement of bodyguards by Selangor FC for their players has failed to stop defender Khuzaimi Piee's house from being burglarised yesterday.

A fortnight ago, Selangor FC said they have hired bodyguards for their players following the horrific acid attack on their star Faisal Halim and threats made to team officials.

On Wednesday evening, burglars broke into Khuzaimi's house in Shah Alam and took away his Yamaha motorcycle, four branded sling bags, and a passport.

In response to the break-in at Khuzaimi's house, Selangor FC Technical Committee chairman, Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar, said the club is committed to ensuring the safety of their players, staff, and families.

"Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon, our Chief Executive Officer, is managing the situation. Fortunately, Khuzaimi was not home at the time of the break-in.

"As soon as I heard about the incident, I came down to see him. We will support him in whatever capacity we can.

"The club is working closely with the players and team officials. Their safety is our utmost concern," said Shahril.

The latest incident involving Khuzaimi came after Malaysian football was rocked by the robbery-cum-assault on Terengganu winger Akhyar Rashid and the acid attack on Faisal this month.
