Cops nab 4 foreigners over Ampang house break-in

AMPANG: Police have arrested four foreign men and a woman in connection to a break-in of a house in Kampung Ampang Indah.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said they received a report on May 24 that the house had been ransacked.

The suspects are believed to have entered through a window in a room at the back of the house.

"Based on intelligence and investigations a team from the Ampang Jaya Criminal Investigation Department arrested three foreign men and a woman near Kampung Tasek Permai."

Those arrested are aged between 23 and 35. All of them tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamines.

One of the suspects has a prior drug record.

Police also seized two mobile phones, a laptop, a tablet, four watches, a watch strap and some clothes.

Azam said the suspects' modus operandi was to target vacant terrace houses.

All the suspects have been remanded. The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking.
