Selangor players protected by bodyguards at stadium

PETALING JAYA: Selangor FC have brought in personal bodyguards for their players following the horrific acid attack on Faisal Halim.

The bodyguards, dressed in black, were seen providing security at the MBPJ Stadium last night during Selangor's Super League match against Kedah.

Selangor FC chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon said they have ramped up security for their players and staff.

"We've beefed up security for every Super League match. In our match against Kedah, we had an extra 150 police officers and 100 marshals," said Johan.

And this does not include the MIB (men in black).

"We've enlisted personal bodyguards to protect our prized players. Even Faisal's family is under our watchful eye," said Johan.

Bodyguards were seen escorting Selangor players and officials at the stadium. There were no meet-and-greet sessions with the fans this time as the players were whisked off to their team bus after the match.

Selangor players are now under strict surveillance, forbidden from going off solo after a match. No more going home alone, it's all on the team bus for them.

Selangor beat Kedah 1-0 with Aliff Haiqal Lokman Hakim Lau scoring the winner.
