SHAH ALAM: National footballer Faisal Halim has started undergoing physiotherapy to rehabilitate his left hand.
Selangor FC chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon said Faisal has already completed a number of sessions over the past few days.
Faisal, whose nickname is Mickey, suffered serious injuries in an acid attack on May 5 and has since undergone four operations.
"Alhamdulillah Faisal is recovering, his wounds are drying up and he has already started more intensive physiotherapy to help him move his left hand," said Johan today.
"The main focus is for him to regain full mobility in his left hand.
"InsyaAllah next week, he is expected to start doing some light jogging to help him recover his fitness.
"He will, however, only be doing light training."
Johan added that Faisal's recovery process is going smoothly according to what has been planned by the medical team treating him.
On a separate note, Johan disclosed that the police have not updated Selangor on Faisal's case.
"So far, we (Selangor) have not received any new developments on the case from the police," said Johan.
"Faisal's legal team is also waiting for the case report."
Johan was speaking during Selangor's Solidarity Fund Collection presentation event in Shah Alam today which was also attended by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
