Two ministers to contest KLFA's top post

KUALA LUMPUR: Two ministers will vie for the Kuala Lumpur FA (KLFA) presidency on Sept 7.

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil have both thrown their hats into the ring.

In a recent post on X, Nik Nazmi outlined his vision for KLFA and the members of his proposed executive committee. His caption read: "Together for KLFA #sampaimatikualalumpur," signalling his commitment to advancing the association.

Nik Nazmi's campaign is bolstered by endorsements from current KLFA executive committee members.

Meanwhile, Fahmi Fadzil announced his candidacy and his team last Friday via a TikTok video.

"We offer ourselves for these positions with the aim of elevating the affiliate clubs and ensuring that KLFA is managed more effectively, to advance football in Kuala Lumpur," said Fahmi.
