KUALA LUMPUR: Kedah's financial crisis is deepening, with club captain Sony Norde publicly voicing his frustrations over unpaid wages.
The Haitian winger revealed that his worsening financial situation forced him to walk six kilometres to training at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium.
Norde, 35, shared that he even had to walk in the rain.
In an Instagram post following Kedah's dramatic 2-2 draw against Sri Pahang on Friday — which marked the return of the first team after a boycott, following a crushing 5-0 defeat to KL City — Norde praised his teammates.
"Despite the problems we have, we did a great job last night. Proud of you guys. Day by day, your effort is worth gold," Norde wrote, adding the hashtags #GiveMeMyMoney and #NeverGiveUp.
The salary delays have clearly affected team morale, and Norde's outspoken stance has drawn attention to the club's financial instability.
His post has since gone viral, sparking debate among fans and increasing pressure on Kedah's management to resolve the issue.
Kedah's struggles are further compounded by a transfer ban imposed by the Malaysian Football League (MFL) for the entire 2024-2025 season.
However, details about the club's financial standing remain unclear, with the MFL yet to provide an update, leaving many questions unanswered.
