KUALA LUMPUR: In a latest blow to Malaysian football, three Super League clubs were each fined RM15,000 for failing to meet financial reporting deadlines on Friday.
The Financial Fair Play First Instance Body (FFP FIB), under the Malaysian Football League (MFL), the league's organisers, released a statement confirming that while 10 clubs successfully submitted their financial reports by the Sept 25 deadline, three clubs did not due to outstanding salary arrears and unpaid contributions to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), the Inland Revenue Board, Perkeso, and the Employment Insurance System (EIS).
"Despite previous warnings, these clubs have not resolved their financial obligations, resulting in an immediate transfer ban that took effect when the second transfer window closed on Sept 22.
"The RM15,000 fine reflects the seriousness of their continued non-compliance," the statement said.
The FFP FIB also noted that if no satisfactory resolution is presented within 30 days, additional sanctions could follow.
Clubs must provide proof of settlement or mutual agreements regarding the overdue payments by Oct 25 to avoid further penalties.
