KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor FC (SFC) will direct their legal team to seek updates from the police on the acid attack investigation involving winger Faisal Halim.
SFC technical committee chairman Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar revealed that the club have yet to receive any progress reports.
"So far, we have not received any updates on Faisal's case. We have appointed lawyers, and we will ask them to obtain updates from the police," said Shahril today.
On Friday, the Selangor state government disclosed they were still awaiting the police investigation report regarding the May attack on Faisal.
Selangor youth, sports, and entrepreneurship committee chairman Najwan Halimi also confirmed no response had been received from the police.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, however, clarified today that the investigation has not stopped.
"The police arrested three individuals and recorded statements from 23 others. However, no evidence has linked the suspects to the crime," Razarudin told the New Straits Times.
"The Criminal Investigation Department even examined their (suspects') bank accounts but found no suspicious transactions.
"Although various efforts have been made, we have never stopped the investigation."
