KUALA LUMPUR: Nafuzi Zain has stepped down as head coach of Kedah Darul Aman FC with immediate effect, the club confirmed on Sunday.
In a statement, Kedah acting chief executive officer Shahrul Samsudin said the decision to accept Nafuzi's resignation was made after thorough deliberation by the owner, board of directors and management.
"This decision was accepted with a heavy heart but with utmost respect," said Shahrul.
Under his guidance, Kedah finished fourth in the 2023 Super League and reached the semi-finals of the 2024 FA Cup.
"We extend our deepest gratitude for his invaluable contributions and wish him continued success in his future career endeavours," Shahrul added.
