KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah advanced to the Malaysia Cup semi-finals after holding Kuching City to a goalless draw in the second leg of their quarter-final at Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu today (Dec 23).
With the draw, Sabah won the tie 1-0 on aggregate.
Sabah will face Sri Pahang in the semi-finals, with the first leg set for Jan 18 in Kota Kinabalu and the return leg scheduled for Feb 2 in Temerloh.
In the Challenge Cup, Penang cruised into the semi-finals with a comprehensive 6-0 aggregate victory over PT Athletic.
Playing at the City Stadium, the Panthers, who loaned the venue to their A1 Semi-Pro League opponents, recorded a 2-0 second-leg win.
Rafael Vitor scored both goals for Penang, converting penalties in the 38th and 45th minutes to cap off a dominant performance.
Penang will face Selangor in the semi-finals, with the first leg to be held at MBPJ Stadium and the second leg at the City Stadium. Match dates have yet to be confirmed.
