KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia suffered their first defeat in the Junior Asia Cup (JAC) at the Hockey Oman Stadium in Muscat today.
The Young Tigers were outplayed 4-1 by Pakistan in a Group B match.
Pakistan's Sufyan Khan scored in the third, 35th and 58th minutes. Their other scorer was Abdul Qayyum (51st minute).
Malaysia's solitary goal was scored by Adam Ashraf Johari in the 23rd minute.
Despite the loss, Malaysia qualified for the semi-finals as runners-up in their group with two wins, one draw and one loss.
Malaysia will play defending champions India for a place in the final. Pakistan will meet Japan in the last four.
