The 30 Malaysian athletes who competed at the recent Tokyo Olympics have won themselves a lifetime treat of teh tarik and food from Teh Tarik Place.
The home grown restaurant chain has decided to reward the athletes, and they can now enjoy Malaysian delicacies in 14 of their outlets nationwide and two other restaurants in Brunei.
The Teh Tarik Place is a subsidiary of Craveat International, which is part of the group of companies owned by Techna-X Berhad
Techna-X executive chairman Tunku Naquiyuddin Tuanku Ja'afar said the gesture was to appreciate the national athletes' performance at the Olympics.
"The backlash the athletes received has been disappointing. We want to make a statement to our athletes, that despite the naysayers, we acknowledge the sacrifice, dedication and athleticism put forth during the Olympics," he said.
Lee Yew Jin, Craveat International Chief Executive Officer, said: "We respect the artistry and discipline required to master the sport and the execution of such mastership is a large feat.
"So, as a token of acknowledgement and admiration, we want to offer our Malaysian Olympians lifelong teh tarik and food," said Yew Jin.
