BUKIT JALIL: Maybank and Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the National Hockey Stadium here to open up the Malaysia Hockey League (MHL) title race.
And yet again, THT came from behind to salvage a point, like they did in the 3-2 win over TNB Thunderbolts.
Maybank led twice, only for THT to draw level by converting two of their 10 penalty corners.
Muhajir Abdu Rauf (16th minute) handed Maybank the lead, while Nabil Fiqri (30th) connected home a penalty corner set-piece to equalise.
Razie Rahim again gave Maybank a lifeline off a 43rd-minute penalty corner, but Faizal Saari stole a point for THT in the 51st minute.
THT skipper, former national player Fitri Saari, said: "We have to play much better in our next match. We should stop playing catch up during matches.
"We need to analyse videos of matches involving Maybank and Thunderbolts and rectify our mistakes."
In another match, TNB Thunderbolts beat NurInsafi Sporting 2-1 with goals from Idris Samad (24th) and Zafri Afiq (56th). Haikal Nilesh scored for NurInsafi in the 18th minute.
RESULTS: MEN – TNB Thunderbolts 2 Nurinsafi Sporting 1, Maybank 2 THT 2, National Development 0 Tenaga Nasional 17.
