KUALA LUMPUR: Hosts China added another 18 gold medals today to bring their tally to 38 gold, 20 silver and nine bronze, totalling 67 medals, on the second day of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
South Korea remain second with only nine gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze, while Japan are third with a haul of 5-13-11.
Indonesia are the best performing Southeast Asian country after two days of competition with one gold, one silver and four bronze medals, followed by Thailand, who won their first gold today through Panipak Wongpattanakit in taekwondo.
Malaysia will join the medal standings tomorrow as the national Arena of Valor squad are already assured a medal. The team will take on China in the final.
