Duncan Lee was too hot for Rain Wong of Hong Kong in the men's event, winning 11-4, 11-2, 11-6.
Joachim Chuah defeated fellow Malaysian Andrik Lim 11-8, 11-7, 13-11.
However, Malaysians Tay Jun Qian lost to South Korean Na Joo Yung 12-10, 11-7, 11-3 while Hafiz Zhafri went down 11-8, 1-9, 11-6 to Hong Kong's Lam Shing Fung.
In the women's competition, Malaysia's Arnie Goh overcame compatriot Whitney Isabelle 11-7, 11-8, 13-11.
Another Malaysian, Doyce Lee, was ousted 11-3, 11-4, 14-12 by Macau's Gigi Yeung.
