KUALA LUMPUR: World No. 15 Ng Eain Yow's fine run in the British Open ended in the quarter-finals in Birmingham on Friday.
The Malaysian, who stunned world No. 6 Karim Abdel Gawad of Egypt in the third round on Wednesday, lost 11-7, 11-4, 11-3 in 28 minutes to world No. 2 Paul Coll of New Zealand.
It was Eain Yow's third defeat to the two-time British Open winner Coll in straight games this year.
Despite the defeat, the Asian champion can stand proud as it was his best-ever run in the British Open.
His previous best run was the second round in 2022.
