KUALA LUMPUR: Up-and-coming squash player K. Sehveetrraa hopes to clinch her third title of the season at the second leg of the ACE Challenger, starting on Wednesday in Kerteh, Terengganu.
However, she faces a challenge as the courts at the Petronas Golf and Recreation Club lack air conditioning.
The 19-year-old Sehveetrraa, who recently won consecutive women's titles at the Hong Kong Challenge Cup and the PSNS President's Trophy in Seremban, said it will be a humid affair.
"It will not only be hot, but without air conditioning, the ball will bounce more on the court. Most of us aren't accustomed to these conditions, so we'll need to adapt quickly," said third seed Sehveetrraa, who received a first-round bye and will meet N. Shahsmithaa in the second round.
Sehveetrraa is drawn to face top seed Wai Yhann Au Yeong of Singapore in the semi-finals.
Other Malaysians in the draw include Yi Jie Choo, Yu Jie Chen, Aika Azman, Choo Yi Xin, K. Vitrikashenie, Xin Ying Yee, Goh Zhi Xuan, Kah Yan Ooi, and Zoe Foo.
In the men's competition, Malaysia's Syafiq Kamal leads the Malaysia's challenge.
