KUALA LUMPUR: The Azman sisters, Aira and Aifa, will battle it out in the women's final of the National Championships at NSC Courts on Sunday.
Second seed Aira fought back from a set down to beat K. Sehveetrraa 8-11, 11-9, 11-5, 2-11, 11-3 in her semi-final, which lasted 37 minutes.
Aifa was also pushed to five sets by Ainaa Amani before winning 13-11, 12-10, 2-11, 8-11, 11-6 in 54 minutes.
The 19-year-old Aira said: "It was close against Sehveetrraa, but I won the match because I was mentally stronger.
"It will be tough to play against my sister, as we often spar and exchange ideas on squash.
"I beat Aifa in the second round of the Australian Open in March, but she was not in form then.
"I anticipate a tough final."
Aifa, 24, said: "I am glad to reach the final, especially after suffering from food poisoning last week.
"However, I hope to play well and beat my sister to win my first national title."
In the men's competition, top seed Addeen Idrakie reached the final with an 11-9, 11-4, 11-8 win over Hafiz Zhafri Abdul Harif.
Addeen will face second seed Syafiq Kamal in the final on Sunday.
Syafiq defeated Joachim Chuah 5-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-7 in his semi-final.
