Malaysian athletes in Olympic action today [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Three Malaysians will be in action today on Day Four of the Paris Olympics.

Women's doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah will face Indonesians Apriyani Rahayu-Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti in their final Group A clash at about 4:10pm (Malaysian time).

Later in the evening, archer Syaqiera Mashayikh will take on Moldova's Alexandra Mirca in the first round of the women's individual event.

Earlier, in the early hours of the morning, men's doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik settled for a runners-up finish in Group A after losing 24-22, 21-14 to China's top seeds Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang in 42 minutes.

The world No. 4 Malaysians will join the Chinese pair in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei have a good chance of reaching the semi-finals following a favourable knockout draw.

The world No. 9 Malaysians will face world No. 8 Kim Won Ho-Jeong Na Eun of South Korea in the quarter-finals.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei have beaten the Koreans twice in three meetings.

Today, 11 gold medals will be on offer in judo, shooting, table tennis, fencing, rugby 7's, artistic gymnastic and swimming.

As of yesterday, Japan lead the medal standings with six gold, two silver and four bronze. France are second with five gold, eight silver and three bronze, while China are third with five gold, five silver, and two bronze.
