KUCHING: Nur Hazirah Ramli seemed to have an affinity for the doubles in tenpin bowling, especially at the Malaysia Games (Sukma).

She struck her third consecutive gold medal in the event at the Sarawak Megalanes Emart in Batu Kawa today.

Nur Hazirah and her partner, Lavinia Kho, defended the title that they won two years ago in Kuala Lumpur by posting a total of 2,392 pinfalls.

Selangor's Intan Nor Edryana Nor Azliman-Adania Redzwan won silver (2,271), while Nur Ain Suffiyyah Zakariya-Anis Hannani Romzi from Johor rounded up the podium (2,183).

With this win, Nur Hazirah completed her doubles hat-trick after first winning gold in the event at the Perak Sukma in 2018 with Gillian Lim.

This is also her sixth Sukma gold medal.

Meanwhile in the men's category, the Perak duo of Faris Zainal Abidin and Syed Adrees Darwiz Syed Zunizam clinched gold with a total pinfall of 2,479.

Darryl Ariel Punzalan Soo- Noor Hidayat Nazri from Melaka finished second (2,459) while Zuhair Zailani-Hafiz Darwisy Azhlan from Penang completed the podium (2,389).
