KUALA LUMPUR: Four Malaysian squash players will turn out for Bristol Buccaneers in the Squash Super League (SSL) in England beginning Nov 15.
The four professionals are men's World No. 13 Ng Eain Yow, women's World No. 30 Rachel Arnold and rising stars C. Ameeshenraj (men's No. 114) and J. Yasshmita (women's No. 82).
Buccaneers will be led by two-time world champion Mohamed El Shorbagy of England.
The six-team SSL, which will run until May, next year, will have six rounds, to be held on Friday nights.
Some of the world's top players, including Paul Coll of New Zealand and Hania El Hammamy of Egypt, will also compete.
The other five teams are the Bexley Ballers, Chichester Centurions, Coolhurst Cavaliers, Leamington Royals and St George's Hill Knights.
Former women's world No. 1 Joelle King of New Zealand, Tesni Murphy of Wales (No. 22), men's World No. 11 Yuossef Soliman of Egypt and Lucas Serme (No. 63) complete the Bristol line-up.
National coach Ajaz Azmat said it will be good exposure for Ameeshenraj and Yasshmita as well as Rachel.
"This is the first time four Malaysians have been included in a team in a well known league like the SSL. They will definitely gain a lot of experience playing among the best."
