PETALING JAYA: Faris "Soloz" Zakaria was named Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Streamer of the Year at the MLBB Creator Awards today.
Faris, a former professional player, frequently streams gameplay on his social media channels, showcasing his skills to entertain followers and engage with the gaming community.
The 31-year-old content creator recently took on a new role as co-owner of Team Vamos, who finished runners-up in Season 14 of the MLBB Professional League Malaysia (MPLMY).
The team are now preparing for the playoffs, aiming to secure one of two spots in the M6 World Championships at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil next month.
"I am very pleased to receive this award. This recognition comes with a big responsibility to continue creating valuable content for the community," he said. "I also want to use my talent to set a good example for the new generation," he added, after receiving the award at a hotel here.
Meanwhile, Selangor Red Giants (SRG) won the award for eSports Team of the Year.
SRG, like Team Vamos, are preparing for the playoffs, and co-founder Simon Lim recently organised a trip to Sunway Lagoon for his players to unwind.
"I saw that my players were really stressed from training, so two days ago, I took them to Sunway Lagoon.
"I told my players and coaches to forget about training and MLBB and just focus on enjoying themselves.
"I want to thank Sunway Lagoon for sponsoring the day out," Simon told the media.
