KUALA LUMPUR: MPLMY Season 14 will end early for two of the four teams at the EduCity Indoor Arena in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, tomorrow.
This follows the conclusion of the play-in stage of the Season 14 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Malaysia (MPLMY) playoffs.
JP Niners (JPN), Todak, Monster Vicious (MV) and Red Esports are fighting to keep alive their hopes of being Malaysia's representatives for the M6 World Championships.
The four teams had finished third to sixth in the regular season, which means they need to earn their spot in the upper bracket semi-finals.
JPN, who finished the regular season third, will meet sixth-placed Red while fourth-placed Todak will take on giant-killers MV.
Besides JPN (6-3), the other three teams finished the regular season with identical 5-4 win-loss records and were only separated by their game difference.
Despite having inferior match win-loss record, Red notched a comfortable 2-0 victory over JPN in Week 3 of the regular season. Fans will find out on the day if JPN have learned from that defeat.
The winners of this clash will have the tough task of denying regular season winners Selangor Red Giants in the upper bracket semi-finals.
MV have struggled with consistency despite having the better of SRG, Team Vamos and play-in rivals Todak during the regular season.
To advance, Todak must continue their late-season momentum which saw them jump two spots on the table to fourth.
The winners will face Team Vamos in the next round.
