PUTRAJAYA: Myanmar's Falcon Esports rode the support of the crowd as they pulled off a stunning come from behind victory over Selangor Red Giants (SRG) in the Swiss stage of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M6 World Championship today (Nov 30).
Before the match started, Falcon's coaching staff and several players were seen singing and dancing along with the crowd at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Falcon analyst Rodel B. Cruz, better known by his nickname Ar Sy, said matching the crowd's energy helped them relieve some pressure.
"The Malaysian crowd is big and we wanted to enjoy the occasion. We did not want to feel pressure," said the Filipino during the post-match presser.
"When they were dancing, so were we. When they were singing, we also sang."
And it clearly worked for them.
SRG were in control of the match, but Falcon capitalised on a solitary mistake by the Malaysians to push their base and win the match 1-0.
The victory sees Falcon's record in the Swiss stage improve to two wins and one loss, now needing only one more win to secure their berth in the knockout rounds.
SRG have now dropped to the 1-2 bracket with only one life left in the World Championship.
