Game over for Vamos at M6 World Championship

PUTRAJAYA: Team Vamos bowed out of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M6 World Championship after losing 3-1 to Russia's Team Spirit at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre today.

The Malaysian team entered the match, needing a win to stay alive in the tournament.

However, Vamos could not match Spirit's aggression, losing the first game.

Though the local challengers managed to recover and tie the match 1-1, they faltered in the next two games against the Russians.

Vamos coach Khairul Azman "Pabz" Sharif said: "Maybe we made a mistake in our planning but we tried to give our best in this match.

"We held the early game, but maybe there were individual mistakes that led us to have issues with closing down games."

Khairul said the coaching staff will hold a post-mortem meeting with the Vamos management to decide whether changes are needed for next season.

"Before that, we will analyse our performance throughout the year and see how we can improve.

"We want to get stronger without worrying about what our opponents do," he added.

Vamos were only founded before Season 14 of the MLBB Professional League Malaysia started in September.

The majority of their roster came from Homebois, who exited the M5 group stage in Manila last year.

"Personally, this is an improvement and I'm grateful for getting to the knockout stage," said Khairul.
