Sukma 2024: Mitsuki slays opponent to tennis gold

KUCHING: National tennis player Mitsuki Leong remained unbeatable at the Malaysia Games (Sukma), successfully defending his men's singles gold medal at the SLTA Tennis Courts here today.

Representing Perak, Mitsuki faced little resistance in his 6-1, 6-4 victory over compatriot Daniel Leong Prickett.

Federal Territories' Darrshan Suresh Kumar secured the bronze.

"Daniel put up a strong fight, but my experience proved crucial in the final.

"This win gives me confidence as I prepare for international competitions," said the 20-year-old Mitsuki.

In the women's singles, Sharifah Elsa Wan Abdul Rahman from Selangor clinched the gold medal after defeating Perak's Shihomi Leong 6-1, 6-1.

Terengganu's Anja Samia Nayar took home the bronze.
