Perodua captures Malaysians' hearts with patriotic ad

THERE is no doubt that Malaysia is a multicultural country.

Living amongst various ethnicities has made it possible for Malaysians to assimilate each other's cultures, from the clothes worn to the food eaten on a daily basis.

To celebrate Hari Kebangsaan and Malaysia Day, Perodua has come up with their ad, known as 'Di Mana Saja, Kita Satu Keluarga'.

Throughout the video, Malaysians can be seen living their lives, all while carrying out unique idiosyncrasies that we all can relate to.

It showcases these mannerisms in various situations, such as haggling prices with sellers, using 'bah' when speaking to other Malaysians, accidentally calling the waiter 'boss' when overseas and more.

UNIQUELY MALAYSIAN

It is not just one thing that makes us Malaysians, it is all the small idiosyncrasies and unique mannerisms that set us apart.

From the way Malaysians use "the hand" to catch the waitress' attention whilst at a restaurant or mamak stall, to the way we add local condiments to our meals regardless of where we are, these are the things that make it easy to recognise Malaysians anywhere.

As food is a unifying factor for Malaysians, sharing the love for food such as durian is something that Malaysians can relate to as well.

No matter where we may be, Malaysians will always carry this uniqueness with them.

In a nutshell, this heartwarming and relatable short film just goes to show that these idiosyncrasies are a testament to our harmony in diversity.

Having this familiarity or solidarity creates a sense of belonging, which creates a family-like bond amongst Malaysians.

Ultimately, Perodua believes that this bond makes us stronger together, and ready to take on any challenges that come our way.

Perodua wishes all Malaysians a happy Hari Kebangsaan and Malaysia Day!
