Umno sec-gen claims PH candidate leading in early votes

KUALA KUBU BAHARU: Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki today claimed Pakatan Harapan (PH) has unofficially won early voting for the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat by-election.

In a posting on his Facebook and X account, Asyraf claimed PH candidate Pang Sock Tao obtained a majority of 436 after she secured 592 in early votes.

He claimed other contenders such as Perikatan Nasional's Khairul Azhari Saut, polled 156 in early votes.

He added that Hafizah Zainudin of Parti Rakyat Malaysia and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin obtained one vote each.

"The PH candidate contesting (in the by-election) represents the unity government.

"There were no DAP flags flown by anyone," said Asyraf.

Early voting for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election took place on May 7.
