KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd’s Annual Report 2015 was given a Bronze level recognition by the Australasia Reporting Awards (ARA) during the awards presentation ceremony in Melbourne, Australia, yesterday.
Media Prima Bhd (MPB), Malaysia’s largest fully-integrated media group, had entered the ARA with its 2015 Annual Report entitled “Everyone Counts”, produced by the group’s Corporate Communications Department (CCD).
“We are indeed very honoured by this recognition. It is a reflection of the close cooperation within the group in producing an important report that details our financial and business performances, while at the same time promotes our creative industry,” said the group’s CCD general manager Azlan Abdul Aziz in a statement.
He added that every year, producing the Annual Report becomes more challenging as criteria and regulations are tightened and fine-tuned by the financial market and stock-broking authorities.
“There is also the element of costs to be mindful of all along the way. However, this international award will definitely act as a booster for us to do better in the future,” said Azlan.
Established in 1950, the annual ARA was set up to encourage excellence in the preparation of annual reports while improving the standards of financial reporting and communication with stakeholders.
It is administered by the Australasian Reporting Awards Limited, an independent not-for-profit organisation run by volunteer professionals from the business, government and not-for profit sectors, with the support of professional bodies concerned on the quality of financial and business reporting.
Each year, more than 700 awards submissions are received to be judged.
Last year, Maybank won the Gold award while Tenaga Nasional Berhad took home the Bronze medal.
