KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima staff showcased their talent at the 2024 MPB Sports Carnival today.
Media Prima Bhd's corporate communications manager, Mahathir Mohammad Sidi, emerged as the winner of the golf event at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club.
He carded a total score of 35 under the stableford format, 17 on the front nine and 18 on the back nine.
Mahathir won the Medal A title and a cash prize of RM300.
In addition, he bagged the "nearest to the line" accolade and won a Samsung soundbar in the grand lucky draw.
In the Medal B category, Abdul Manan A Samad, senior news editor for sports and entertainment at Harian Metro, achieved a score of 28 on countback and took home RM250.
The day was filled with camaraderie and friendly competition as 33 participants from various MPB branches came together to enjoy not just golf, but also a day of laughter, food and exciting prizes.
NSTP Group Managing Editor, Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman, said the event played a role in fostering a sense of community among staff members.
"This event is part of MPB's initiative to encourage recreational activities among our employees. In addition to golf, we also organise futsal, badminton and bowling, promoting teamwork and strengthening bonds within our workforce," said Zaini.
