KUALA LUMPUR: Honeywell, a diversified technology and manufacturing leader, has opened its Asean headquarters here.
Honeywell Asean president Briand Greer said the new regional headquarters will support the businesses to deliver solutions to industries such as aerospace, oil and gas, automation and process controls.
Software will represent a big portion of its growth over the next few years, he added.
This explains why half of the 23,000 engineers globally are in software.
In conjunction with the opening of the regional headquarters, Honeywell opened the doors to "The Honeywell Connected Experience", a showcase for its software industrial products and offerings.
Malaysia has been a great partnet, he said, lauding the decision to locate the headquarters.
Honeywell is the first multinational company to have joined Malaysia's new pricipal hub initiative.
It has invested more than US$500 million and created more than 120 high value jobs.
It has 1,500 workforce in Malaysia with more than 4,000 employees across the region.
