KUALA LUMPUR: With a new partnership in place, Automobili Lamborghini unveils its first local 3S (sales, service and spare parts) dealership in Malaysia at Glenmarie, Shah Alam.
The customer-centric centre is run by newly-appointed sole distributor SunAgata Supercars Sdn Bhd, a company in partnership with Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Cheah.
The opening also coincides with the local unveiling of the Aventador Ultimae.
"We want to replicate the Lamborghini factory exprience with the new 3S dealership. The centre will allow customers to mix, match and decide on customise materials such as leather and the body carbon-fibre to reach the right feel and touch of the Lamborghini they are buying.
"One of the dealership's highlights other than our display lounge, is our workshop where customers are given permissions to have a look and monitor work being done on the car," said its Asia Pacific region director Francesco Scardaoni.
Excited with the latest launch and collaboration, Scardaoni said the automaker's new partnership with SunAgata was important as it allowed the brand to strategically grow and expand locally while opening up newer opportunities with the dealership's connection to the industry as well as Sunway Group.
He added that Malaysia had the potential growth for the luxury super car and sports utility vehicle (SUV) market given the country's culture and passion for automotive, making it an important point of entry.
"Motor super sports is deeply rooted in the Malaysian culture. This passion mindset for cars and top brands make the industry a unique and highly potential one," said Scardaoni.
Commenting on the brand's outlook for 2022, Scardaoni says it would be a very busy time for Lamborghini, adding that the company was confident for the year's performance.
This is in relation to the brand's record-making sales both globally and in the Asia Pacific region considering the on-going pandemic - 8,405 and 2,249 units sold respectively.
The figures are the highest it has ever been for the company.
Scardaoni attributed the success to the company's handling with the chip shortage issue by forming strategic long-term partnerships with suppliers and setting up a supply chain to fulfill demands, quick adoption to digitidation when the pandemic first broke out, and close constant relations with its customers globally.
At present the company will heavily focus on its product and services during its local expansion phase as it moves towards hybridisation of its engines by 2024-2025 where all its model lines will be electrified.
He said Lamborghini would reveal more of its plans for the year in the coming months.
