Encorp suspends group CEO to facilitate internal probe 

KUALA LUMPUR: Encorp Bhd has suspended its group chief executive officer (GCEO) Hazurin Harun to facilitate internal investigations related to allegations made involving the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the company said Hazurin's suspension came into effect today until further notice.

During the period of his suspension, Kamarul Azman BKamarozaman@Amir, the group chief financial officer (GCFO), will be appointed as the officer in charge and temporarily assume the duties and functions of GCEO.

In a separate filing, Encorp said it is committed to good governance and transparency, referring to the statement issued by the MACC regarding the remand of three of its officers on Aug 8 this year to assist in an investigation.

"The company is closely monitoring the situation to ensure full compliance and uphold our strong commitment to integrity," it added.

Encorp's shares closed 1.92 per cent or half a sen lower at 25.5 sen today.
