KUALA LUMPUR: As an effort to revitalise Malaysia's retail market after its transition out of Covid 19, Web Bytes has launched a voucher network for its retail customers by sponsoring RM300,000 e-vouchers to university students via Uni Enrol.
Web Bytes' chief executive officer, Ooi Boon Sheng said that they are continuing to develop new solutions like the voucher system to rejuvenate the sector.
"We hope we can help boost sales for our retail merchants as well as equip them with the technology to leverage on a collaborative network in the Xilnex ecosystem, to expand their customer base," Ooi said.
Xilnex Voucher Network allows Xilnex's merchants to offer discount e-vouchers for other merchants to buy to complement their offerings.
Furthermore, non-retail corporations can purchase e-vouchers through the network in bulk as a reward or incentive on their apps or make it a part of their marketing or promotional campaigns.
Xilnex automates voucher redemption reimbursements to the merchants for a prompt and convenient payout for the retailers.
"The pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation for retailers in Malaysia. Payment via e-wallets or orders through scanning of QR codes has become more widely adopted. In the post-pandemic era, retailers need to continue to leverage the right technology to offer value-for-money products and services that can be purchased conveniently through multiple channels," said Retail Group Malaysia's managing director, Tan Hai Hsin.
Uni Enrol will use the voucher network to launch a student e-wallet.
A total of 30,000 e-vouchers from Web Bytes from brands like Tealive, Marrybrown, A-Look, and SNS Network will be distributed to 1,000 students who enrol via Uni Enrol's platform.
After getting their barcodes emailed, they can walk into the merchants' outlets and have them scanned to redeem.
Uni Enrol's chief executive officer, Rickson Khaw said "Uni Enrol has been working with many large corporations to help ease the financial burden of pursuing higher education for deserving students through sponsorships in kind. We believe that Web Bytes' sponsorship and our continuous collaboration in Xilnex Voucher Network will go a long way in helping to reduce the students' daily expenses,"
Web Bytes also provides self-ordering kiosks, mobile loyalty applications, iPad-based POS (iOS POS) as well as sales, inventory, and warehousing solutions.
Also, there's Xilnex Point of Sale (POS) at international airports and by retailers like La Juceria, Ms. Read, Hai-O, Mydin, and Alpro Pharmacy.
