Fashion brand Pomelo opened its first retail store in Petaling Jaya, Selangor last month, marking the company's venture into the retail market in Malaysia.
The new store promises a one-of-a-kind shopping experience for fans. Customers can explore over 1,600 products in-store with ease as they identify and shop their favourite collections.
The store also includes a dedicated area for Tap.Try.Buy., the brand's in-app online-to-offline shopping feature. This is part of the brand's strategy to leverage its technological capabilities to differentiate itself from other fashion retailers in the region.
It allows users to shop from thousands of styles and brands online, try on in-store, and only pay for
what they love.
For the first time, shoppers in Malaysia can experience Tap.Try.Buy., along with a variety of other in-app features, including "in-store mode", which gives customers the option to pick and pay for their orders directly, book a fitting room through the Pomelo app and receive updates on their queue status.
The new store features an adjusted store layout with clear sections, accommodating high volume of shoppers without compromising in-store experience.
Chief executive officer David Jou says since 2019, Pomelo has had a strong commercial performance in Malaysia with over 269 per cent sales growth.
"The opening of a flagship store in the country's capital will expand the reach of the brand's exclusive collaborations and fashion-forward apparel, while enhancing the appeal to Malaysians for other benefits."
"We're excited to bring an entirely new retail experience, including Tap.Try.Buy., to customers across Kuala Lumpur," he says.
